(a)stray scott

scott and i use the nurse betty scale when judging a movie, better or worse than nurse betty. it started out as the truth about cats and dogs, but we adjusted as time passed. both movies are completely mediocre, we neither loved them nor hated them. when scott's gravy train chose to move them to ohio (or whatever bullshit state he lives in), i was forced to discuss movies with new people. most of these people haven't seen nurse betty, so the rating process doesn't fly. which brings me to the question behind this post. i need run of the mill movie suggestions to create a new scale, either that or a fund to bring scott back. wanna help?

Garden State: I can 't remember a recent movie that was trying so hard and yet failed so miserably but wan't unwatchable.

I haven't seen Garden State yet, but its been on HBO so I'll watch it. Some other possible candidates (limited due to 2 year old presence)

Assault on Precint 13
The Ring II
Crash (Very mediocre for me)

If I think of more I'll post em. BTW, I recently saw The Island, and it is my new worst movie ever. Michael Bay should never be allowed near a camera again.

As an aside, did you watch Big Love on Sunday? Freaking hilarious!

As for coming back, Alex and Kirk know my demands.

theorris, our movie connection ended at pippi, as i loved garden state.

scott, i haven't seen the first two on your list and flat out refuse to. i am positive if we chose crash we would be stoned to our deaths. i think it best to stick with a comedy.

i haven't seen big love yet. i had a "friend" tivo it, so shush until i see it.

alex is off being chinese, so kirk's our best bet.

I liked The Island -- but I just like Scarlet Johansson. But don't take my advice - I like every movie (just ask Cerebellum).

-Alex

Hey! I loved The Weatherman! (or was it just the company I was in?)
I watched one last night that we could add to Nurse Betty:
In Her Shoes

nahhh, it wasn't the movie you liked so much as being seen with alex and i. after all, we're "hott", and i promise never to quote paris hilton again. for now.

Alex,

I don't know which is worse, the fact that you loved Magnolia so much, of The Island. You are not allowed to play this game until you can name 5 movies that you hated.

The Island was beyond atrocious. At least in Magnolia you could hang your hat on the soundtrack. No excuse for The Island. I'll wait for your list, and can help you get it started if you want.

alex is banned from the game fo'life. let's give him the benefit of the doubt and assume it's possible for him to come up with a list of top 5 hated. even then he would quickly revert to old habits and love everything. scott, as elitist as we are we can't have any of that going around. agreed?

ok, ok. I just saw an incredibly movie.

Ready?

The Final Cut.

But that doesnt change anything. I dont want to play your stupid game.

Is that the Meg Ryan naked movie? You're right it was horrible. And you're also right, you're not allowed to play our stupid game. And thats only one, I'm waiting for the other 4.

The Wedding Crashers.

It was funny enough, but not one to see again. A good medium scale movie.
